# SpirithorseGives to Idaho Horse Rescue
Happy Spring! March flew by like a Category 5 tornado that threw an eighteen wheeler in my path when I least expected it. Between emergency health scares and doctor visits it was a roaring tornado of a month for me! And as I got my feet back on the ground…Oh, hello April….
Our February #SpirithorseGives horse rescue received $50 in donations thanks to YOU, and for March, I will be donating to an Idaho land conservation group, but I haven’t decided which one yet. We need places to trail ride don’t we? Can’t let the developers have everything they want, especially since they seem determined to develop the beautiful foothills of the Rockies here in Boise, ID. And that is a tragedy I do not want to see. I love my hills.
I’m keeping it close to home this month with April’s rescue organization.
Our April #SpirithorseGives rescue is Idaho Horse Rescue in Eagle, Idaho.
Idaho Idaho Horse Rescue is doing AH-MAZING work. A great example is this moment in 2017 of a daring rescue of a horse stranded in belly deep snow at 8,000 feet on the side of a mountain during one of the largest snow years Idaho has ever seen.
SUCH an amazing display of determination and love from everyone involved in this stressful rescue mission!
According to the Idaho Horse Council, Idaho’s current horse population is estimated to be over 200,000 not including wild horses. In today’s difficult economic environment many find it difficult to care for their horses properly. The result is an increase in abused, abandoned and neglected horses.
Idaho Horse Rescue’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and provide refuge for these animals. They also offer educational information and services to help the community better care for their horses.
Each week they receive calls from within their community asking for help with abandoned and neglected horses.
Because of the high demand for Idaho Horse Rescue’s assistance, they are out growing their facilities at an astounding rate. They need our help to build a new, bigger and better barn to shelter more horses and offer better quality of care for those horses needing specialized medical attention or dietary needs.
I am so happy to sponsor their mission and help them build a better barn for these abused, mistreated and magnificent animals we love.
